About Us

My name is Jessica Madrid Marquez and I was born and raised in Acapulco, Mexico. I came here when I was 12 years of age. I am a student at the University of Utah and doing my prerequisites to apply for the Nursing Program. I am currently working as a Medical Assistant at IHC hospital. I have been married for almost two years and it has been great to make new memories with the person I love the most. I enjoy watching every type of sport, (my husband is a big sport fan). I love watching football the most because it requires a lot of passion and dedication to get there and that's how I feel about my career and in my everyday life, football motivates me. I love my family, my parents and my little brother, without them I wouldn't be in this country. I love my husband and his family as well. We are all very united. I miss home but I found a new home here with my family.

Hi! My name is Kaela J. and I grew up in Logan, Utah but moved around a lot. I've lived in Washington State, New Jersey, Texas, Kentucky, and Utah. I taught English in Moscow, Russia for 4 months and graduated from Snow College in 2011. I am currently a Senior at the University of Utah with my husband and 2 year old supporting me in the process. I am planning on continuing my education to get a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy. I love traveling, spending time with my family, learning about relationships, and I adore hiking, camping, and back-packing. I hope that anyone who stumbles across this blog will find it helpful and supportive! Someday I hope to adopt myself!

Hi! My name is Taylor M. and I grew up in South Jordan, Utah. My family is from Sao Paulo, Brazil and I've never meet most of them, so I'm hoping to be able to go there and meet them someday. I graduated from Snow College in 2010 and I am currently a senior at the University of Utah studying Human Development and Family Studies. I love sports, being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with my family. There are many things about adoption I didn't know and had questions about so I hope this blog will help others with the same questions. I too hope to be able to adopt one day.

Hello there stranger my name is Amelia Gallegos I am from Salt Lake City, UT. I have lived here most of my life I hope to venture out into the world once I am graduated from the U of U. I am a outdoors kind of person I'd rather be one with nature than one with my computer :-). Currently I am working towards my Bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies, after I graduate I hope to work on my Masters degree in Public Policy or Social Work. I work full time as a respite worker at Summit Community Counseling; respite work is a bit like social work but more hands on and personal with the families I work with. Basically my job is to lighten the load of lives stressful situations. I actually have few families that I work with that have adopted children, so I get to see first hand the joys and stresses of adoption.
